During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.
Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, as stated by city officials.
Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.
Russian forces has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.
"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.
Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.
A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.
Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.
Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.
The assaults follow nights of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.
The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.
National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.
Officials stated energy workers and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
